Gift of sight was her starting point. All one level. Refurbishment of the interior of her laser cutting model. Her space was an area to showcase work of architects, engineers, interior designers and photographers for prospective clients.

Her idea of gifting was the sharing of space. One large studio area where the architects can collaborate and bounce ideas off one another.

My Laser Cut Model
I used the laser cutter so that I could make exact reproductions of the shapes I wanted to create. Each frame is made up of two pieces at the base they are designed to slide into place, interlocking. The design is meant to emulate the trunks of trees and in time the wood will grey and mature from weathering just as the bark on the trees on the site have.
I have created canopies made out of a mesh fabric which in a real life construction would protect people from rain and provide a light shade. This links my past project on augmented reality with this one as I used canvas as a key element for its design.
These are separate structures so it allows for as many as necessary to be constructed in accordance with the demand.

My Proposed Site
My tramstop is no 6 on the Gallery Tour. Situated on Parnell Rise, the closest stop - within the triangle site - to the shops and galleries of Parnell.
The tramlines will run alond Parnell Rise and continue up Parnell Road, my stop will be on the corner under the trees and will take influence from the tree form and the grey weathered bark exterior.
My tam stop will adress the micro-climatic conditions of my proposed site - allowing for rain shelter and prvides shade in hot days but the material used for the roof will still alow for light to filter through. Wind is limited as the site is surrounded by 3 or 4 floored buildings.

Paris Metro - Art Nouveau
These examples of the Metro in Paris take influence from nature with their hand-crafted columns made to resemble tree trunks and vines. My augmented reality model used metal and canvas which I thought related to this example where iron and glass have been used as a canopy.

Christo and Jeanne-Claude
I also looked at the artists, Christo and Jean-Claude who wrapped buildings and various structures in cloth for temporary exhibitions. The following photos show examples of some of their work and how they can relate to mine.

Kunsthaus Graz
The Kunsthaus in Graz, Austria is an exhibition hall designed for multidisciplinary modern and contemporary art. I am focusing on the surface of the structure made up of many different panels pieced together. The outer 'skin' has no structural qualities nor does it serve to distribute rainwater as the plumbing is internal and the water runs between the gaps in the the panels.
I intend to take a similar approach to my site by adding a skin surface to the buildings in my site. Instead I will use a flexible material like canvas to wrap the buildings with. Brackets will be placed in regular intervals to attach the canvas skin, to the existing facade. I will model this join in a 1:1 scale with the materials which would be used in the actual structure.
